Dori berinstein, trustee

Dori is a four-time Tony-winning Broadway producer and an Emmy-award-winning director, producer and writer of film and television.

She had the extraordinary privilege to direct, produce and write Marvin Hamlisch: What He Did For Love (Emmy Award) for American Masters, celebrating the monumental life of one of the greatest visionary geniuses of our time. Dori’s other award-winning films include: ShowBusiness: The Road To Broadway (Showtime); Carol Channing: Larger Than Life (Showtime); Gotta Dance (adapted for the stage – Half Time); Some Assembly Required and The Last Blintz.

As a Broadway Producer, Dori is currently represented on Broadway by The Prom, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw. Other shows include: Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Tony Award – Best Play Revival); Legally Blonde: The Musical (Olivier Award – Best Musical), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Tony Award – Best Musical), The CrucibleOne Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (Tony Award – Best Play Revival), Fool Moon (Special Tony Award), Big: The MusicalFlower Drum SongEnchanted April and Golden Child.

Dori executive produced and/or supervised over 100 feature, TV, special f/x, animated and online productions, including Isaac Mizrahi’s award-winning documentary UnzippedDirty Dancing (both the feature film & TV series), Jim Henson’s MuppetVision 3-D for Walt Disney Imagineering and websites for Oprah and President Clinton. She spearheaded creative development and production for DreamWorks Theatricals and has worked as a Producer and/or an Executive for Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, NBC, MTV, Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, Oxygen Media, Vestron Pictures, and Walt Disney Imagineering. Dori began her professional career at Morgan Stanley in Mergers & Acquisitions.
